What to film

Hold the phone landscape, move slowly and turn the lights on. Do this for each room.

  1. The whole roomWalk slowly around from the doorway, showing every wall, the windows and the ceiling.
  2. Where you want the indoor unitPoint at the wall you would like it on, and show what is on the other side if you can.
  3. The outside wallGo outside and film the wall behind that spot, the ground below it and any space for the outdoor unit.
  4. The route between themHow a pipe could get from inside to outside: straight through, along the wall or across a loft.
  5. Your fuse boardA clear photo of the consumer unit with the cover open, and where it is.
  6. Rough measurementsSay the length and width of the room as you film, or type them in the notes.
  7. Anything existingFor a service, repair or replacement: the rating plates on both units and any error code.
  8. For businessesThe ceiling type, roof or yard access and any existing plant area.

    Video surveys: common questions

    Is a video quote as accurate as a visit?

    For most homes and small offices, yes: we see the room, the wall and the route. If anything needs a closer look we say so and book a short visit before you commit.

    Is the price fixed?

    Yes, if what we find on the day matches the video. If something is different, we explain it and agree any change before doing the work.

    Who can see my videos?

    Only our team. Videos are stored privately on our own server, never public, and deleted after six months.

    How long can the videos be?

    Any length, up to 1 GB per file and 15 files. Two or three clips of a minute or so is usually plenty. Use Wi-Fi if you can.

    My upload keeps failing. What can I do?

    Try again on Wi-Fi and keep the page open. If it still fails, send the clips by WeTransfer to info@anglianaircon.co.uk or call 0330 520 2935.
