Quote by video 0330 520 2935How much does air conditioning cost in Cambridge?
A single-room wall-mounted system typically costs £2,000–£3,500 installed, and a 2–3 room multi-split £3,500–£6,000 or more. We give you a fixed written price after a survey or video. See our Cambridge price guide.
Can I get a quote without a home visit?
Yes. Send a two-minute video of the room and outside wall and we usually reply with a written quote within one working day.
Which areas do you cover?
All of Cambridge (CB1 to CB5) and South Cambridgeshire, including Trumpington, Cherry Hinton, Chesterton, Histon and Impington, Cambourne, Great Shelford, Sawston, Milton and Waterbeach, plus Ely and East Cambridgeshire.
Do you offer finance?
Ask when you request a quote and we will tell you the current options.
How many days will it take?
One day for a typical single room; two or three days for multi-room systems.
How big is the hole in the wall?
Normally about 65 mm per indoor unit, sealed and finished neatly inside and out.
Does the outdoor unit have to be on the wall?
No. A ground stand or flat roof frame is often quieter and easier to service.
How loud is it indoors?
About 19–25 dB on the lowest setting, quieter than a whisper.
Does it work for heating in winter?
Yes. Reverse-cycle units heat efficiently well below freezing.
How long is a service visit?
Around an hour for a single split, longer for multi-splits and commercial systems.
Will you service a system someone else fitted?
Yes, most makes. Tell us the make and model when booking.
What is the typical price?
UK prices for a home system usually fall between £100 and £200 a year. You get a fixed price when you book, and plans cost less per visit.
Can you diagnose from an error code?
Often. With the make, model and code we can usually narrow the fault down before arriving.
Is my old system worth repairing?
Sometimes not. R22 systems and very old units are often better replaced; we will show you why.
Does it still heat when it is freezing outside?
Yes. Modern units keep working well below 0°C, defrosting automatically.
Could it be my only heating?
For a flat or a small home it can heat the rooms, but it does not make hot water.
Can I get a grant?
Not through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, which excludes air-to-air systems. The lower installed cost usually compensates.
How much does air conditioning cost to run?
Well under 10p an hour for a typical 3.5 kW system cooling a room at October 2026 prices.
Can you install outside office hours?
Yes, evenings and weekends can be arranged to avoid disruption.
Can you take over an existing maintenance contract?
Yes. We begin with a condition survey and a review of refrigerant records.
Do you subcontract to main contractors?
Yes, to specification or on a design-and-install basis.
